General directions
Every direction below is from the Excel 88 brochure. Always test for colourfastness on carpet, upholstery and fabrics first. Do not use in hot sun or while a surface is hot.
General cleaning
With a sprayer, apply to countertops, office and home furniture, painted walls, auto upholstery, light fixtures, all appliances. Wipe dry with a clean cloth or towel. Use 5 : 1 for tough problems such as rust, road tar, driveway cleaning and soap build-up.
Laundry
A pre-wash in your laundry (avoid satin, silk and soft leather), removing virtually every stain. Grease, oil, blood, inks or makeup — Excel 88 will greatly reduce your laundry room or facility expenses.
Carpets
Removes grease, wine, liquor, pet stains, gum, oil, coffee, glue, paint, grape juice, candle wax, some inks, vomit, water stains and hair dye. Vacuum well before shampooing; follow the machine’s instructions. Spot removal: 1 : 10 with a spray bottle, brush in if needed, wipe dry.
Flooring
On linoleum, tile, porcelain, ceramic and cement, mix in your mop bucket. Apply for 2–3 minutes, mop dry; rinsing is not needed. Heavy wax build-up: 1 : 10, let set 5–10 minutes, mop dry with a damp mop.
Windows
Dilute two caps full of Excel 88 into a quart of water. Spray on and wipe dry with newspaper, cotton cloth or paper towel. Leaves surfaces streak free.
Aluminum, stainless steel, chrome
Spray on, then buff dry with a cloth or power buffer for best results. Will leave a streak-free surface.
Rust removal
Spray on, let set for 5 minutes, then wipe clean. A scotch pad may be used if desired.
Chewing gum, candle wax, hand glue
Take a sharp object such as an exacto knife and cut holes into the object. Lift the edges so Excel 88 gets underneath. Spray on the holes and around the edges, let stand two minutes to emulsify, then remove.
Jewelry — diamond, gold, silver
For ultimate care dilute 1 to 10 in a bowl or jar. Immerse jewelry for five minutes, scrub with an old toothbrush, rinse with water and buff dry with a cotton cloth. The new shine and sparkle will amaze you.
Body shop
Removes urethane off glass, hands, upholstery and carpets without smearing. Spray on, let set 5 minutes, wipe with a clean cloth. For overspray and silicon on head and tail lights, tires, glass and auto interiors: 5–10 minutes, wipe with a dry cloth. As a metal prep, primer wash and anti-static, prevents fish eyes.
Degreasing boats, motorcycles, engines, parts
Apply with a spray bottle onto a warm motor and leave 10 minutes. If the motor is cold, leave 20 minutes, then wash off with a pressure washer or garden hose. Heavily greased parts: submerge 20–30 minutes, then rinse.
Restaurant exhaust vents and grills
In the kitchen, mix in a dip tank. Submerge the extractor vents for about one hour, remove and rinse with clean water. For back drops and grills, spray on a warm (not hot) surface, wait 5–10 minutes, then rinse or wipe with a clean dry cloth.
Concrete driveways
Do not use on asphalt. Spray onto the area, use a strong bristle brush and allow five to ten minutes for the soil to break up. Hose off with water.
Helpful hint
After cleaning vinyl or wood with Excel 88, use a natural lemon oil or petroleum jelly to bring back the natural shine.
